Length: 3 Residency programs:

• Short Term “Ceramics Add-on” Residency through Sou’Wester Lodge: 1 week (The residency program at Sou’Wester supports every media except ceramics. When in residence, artists at Sou’Wester can apply for a week of access to the Ilwaco Artworks ceramics studio)

• Short Term “Regional Artist Residency”: 1 week (A teaching residency for artists living within WA and OR)

• Short Term “National Workshop Residency”: 7-10 days (A teaching residency for experienced artists)

Housing: A variety of options residents can choose from including Lodge Suites, Cabins, Vintage Trailers and RV & Camping

Kilns: 2 electric kilns and 1 Raku kiln -residents do not fire their own work -up to ^6

Expenses:

• “Ceramics Add-on” Residency:

  • Residency fee ranges from $200-$575 per week (+taxes and fees), depending on the season and your accommodation

  • Ceramics add-on fee of $75

Funding/Stipend:

• “Ceramics Add-on” Residency: None

• “Regional Artist” Residency: $100 stipend for each day teaching

• “National Workshop” Residency: $600 stipend

Workspace: Access to the community ceramic studio at Ilwaco Artworks

Responsibilities:

• “Ceramics Add-on” Residency: None

• “Regional Artist Residency:” Teach 1-2 ceramic classes

• “National Workshop” Residency: Teach a workshop or 1-2 ceramic classes, present an artist talk and asked to set up a solo exhibition in the Ilwaco Artworks gallery

• Free use of studio glazes, equipment and tools

• 5 minutes from the beach, hiking trails, and downtown Long Beach, WA

• Ilwaco stands as the only community studio in the area and is a third space for many in the community. The studio is small, housing twenty studio members and around 30 class attendees each week. The environment is casual and everyone knows each other.

• Sou’Wester attracts a variety of quirky and unique artists from all over the country. They actively look for artists that are doing things that are unconventional and out of the norm.
