Location: Red Lodge, MT

Length:

  • Long Term: 1-2 years (September 1-July 31)

  • Short Term: 2-12 weeks (September 1-May 1)

  • “Artist Invite Artist” Short Term: 3-4 weeks (Most often takes place in summer)

Housing: Family friendly (children and partners are welcome)

  • Short Term: Private bedroom in a shared house

  • Long Term: Two locations: Private one bedroom apartment within the “Salmon House” resident house a short walk away from the Red Lodge Gallery or two apartments above the gallery

Kilns:

  • 2 Wood kilns

  • 1 Soda kiln

  • 2 Gas kilns

  • 1 Electric kiln

Expenses:

  • Materials at cost

  • Short Term: $45/day residency fee

Funding/Stipend:

  • $850/month stipend

  • $1,250/year material and firing stipend

  • BIPOC and LGBTQ+ need based scholarships available for short term residents

  • NCECA participation stipend or paid for

Workspace: A 12’ x 12’ private studio and a 40’ x 60’ communal workspace

Responsibilities: 20 hours/week working events, retail, teaching, cleaning and maintenance (One 8 hour/week shift in the Red Lodge sales gallery, 9-11 hours/week assisting the facilities coordinator with property maintenance, and twice a month take part in a group deep clean of the resident studios. Residents may also teach special classes as part of their work exchange)
