Location: Butte, MT
Length: Short Term: 4-6 weeks
Housing: Artists coming from out of town will be provided accommodations in Butte. Each year, their housing changes based on the needs of incoming residents and changing housing options in Butte. Generally, residents are housed together in a centrally located furnished home or apartment with a private bedroom. Applicants will have the opportunity to share their housing needs in the Artist-in-Residence application. (This is a family friendly residency)

2 Gas kilns
Soda firing and other firing methods and tools are available
Expenses: None
Funding/Stipend: Stipend of $35/day
Workspace: A personal, public workspace within Hungry Hill Pottery’s community studio
Responsibilities: Participate in community engagement, such as studio visits, artist talks, performances, workshops, etc. and provide feedback about your experience.
Number of Residents: 20 artists yearly; 1 ceramic artist per year
Additional Opportunities:
Possible exhibition opportunity at Foreground Gallery or other walls in the public parts of the building
Opportunity to teach a public workshop (paid)
Workspace is public facing and facilitates casual resident engagement with the Hungry Hill Pottery community
Residents give a public presentation (can look different based on artist preference, ie. artist talk, workshop, display of work presentation)
Yearly group exhibition including all artists in residence that year
