Kilns: 2 Bailey 48 cu. ft. gas kilns, 1 ConeArt 16.5 cu. ft. oval electric kiln, 2 ConeArt 10 cu. ft. oval electric kilns, 2 AMACO Excel 10 cu. ft. electric kilns, 1 AMACO Excel 6.5 cu. ft. electric kiln, 1 L&L 7 cu. ft. Easy-Fire electric kiln and 2 raku kilns; 1 wood fired train kiln and 1 catenary arch wood/soda/salt kiln at an auxiliary location 12 minutes from the facilities
Expenses: All materials at cost except studio glazes. Personal wood firings only require wood acquisition and prep — Woodfire residency: wood firing fees waived
Funding/Stipend: None
Workspace: Semi-private studio space
Responsibilities:
7 hours/week studio maintenance
Minimum of 20 hours/week of active use of the studio space
Woodfire residency: Teaching classes on wood firing, managing the wood firing community, acting as the contract to our wood suppliers, processing firewood, managing kiln maintenance, implementing safety policies, and supervising community and class firings
Number of Residents: 3 artists (2 wood fire residents and 1 electric/gas fire resident)
Additional Opportunities:
Free bisque firings and 6 free electric or gas firings
Opportunity to work as a Studio Technician outside of the required 7 hours. Hours worked as a Studio Technician in excess of the required 7 weekly hours are paid
Group resident exhibition at the end of the residency year
