Location: Kansas City, MO

Length: Long Term: 1-2 years - (August-July) -residents can ask to renew for a second year

Housing: None

Kilns: 5 electric kilns, 1 downdraft gas kiln, 1 Blaauw gas kiln, 1 downdraft soda kiln and raku kilns

Expenses: Raw materials and manufactured clay at a highly discounted cost

Funding/Stipend: $5,000/year or $416/month stipend; Free firing, glaze materials and recycled studio clay

Workspace: Private studio room

Responsibilities: 12 hours/week studio maintenance

Number of Residents: 3

Additional Opportunities:

  • Minimally structured

  • Sell in the KC Clay Guild gallery

  • Participation in two sales per year

  • Program highlights wanting to keep in touch and support after residency

  • Residents receive free NCECA pass, lodging, and travel

  • $150 credit given for applying to exhibitions, workshops, conferences, etc.

  • Extensive teaching opportunities for additional income at $25/hour
